BFA Relocation Q & A
We know you are probably wondering about Beauty From Ashes™ Ministries (BFA) moving to the Tampa Bay area and what that will look like. To help you understand, below is a list of common questions and the answers.

Q: Is this the end of Beauty From Ashes™ Ministries?

A: By no means are we ending BFA's services or closing up BFA altogether. Having been established in 2005 as a nationally recognized 501(c)3 organization, we are able to operate anywhere in the United States and will be continuing to pursue our mission (to prevent, reach, and restore victims of sexual abuse, exploitation, and trafficking) from our new location.

Q: Will you be taking Spirit with you?

A: Yes, we are bringing our therapy colt, Morning Star Spirit, with us to our new home. We are looking for property in the area that will have sufficient acreage for horses, so he will be coming along.

Q: Will you still be doing Equine Therapy?

A: We will definitely still be offering Equine Assisted Learning and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. God has revealed to us the efficacy of this form of treatment and it is one to which we are called.

Q: What about the National Training?

A: We are moving the National Training to Tampa Bay along with the ministry and it will be held on the same dates as it is currently scheduled.

Q: Why should I continue supporting Beauty From Ashes™?

A: While Beauty From Ashes™ has developed a relationship and will be working closely with the Salvation Army, we are not dissolving, we are evolving. We will still be meeting the day to day needs of our clients and partners with both direct and indirect services. We need your support in order to do this.

Q: How can I help support the development of the new trafficking shelter at Salvation Army?

A: While Mrs. Shematz, in her new role as the Director of Social Services oversees the program, monetary support is needed. You may give money to the Salvation Army at this link and notate that it is for Tampa, FL and designated for the trafficking shelter.

Q: I was hoping to intern with Beauty From Ashes™. Can I still do that?

A: Absolutely. All internships will be coordinated in partnership with the Salvation Army with Mrs. Shematz's oversight.  As The Salvation Army, Tampa/Hillsborough County, Area Command, Director of Social Services, she oversees 5 programs:  Emergency Shelter (132 beds), Women's Transitional Housing (42 beds), Men's Transitional Housing (43 beds), Family Services, and the Emergency Trafficking Shelter (4-8 beds). This is all in addition to BFA's Equine and Wellness Programs.

Q: Once BFA relocates, do I have to be in the Tampa Bay Area to volunteer?

A: No. As long as volunteers have participated in our mandatory orientation and due to the internet and modern telecommunications, you don't have to be local to help out Beauty From Ashes™.

Q: What will happen to the gardening program?

A: Since we have an unlimited supply of compost, we'll develop another garden in the Tampa area. The garden in Fort Myers has already begun producing a harvest that we are giving away to survivors and programs such as the Salvation Army.

Q: Who will be doing strip club outreaches in Fort Myers?

A: There are currently two ministries in the Fort Myers area doing strip club outreaches on a regular basis, one of which was trained by BFA.

Q: Will BFA be doing strip club outreaches in Tampa?

A: Currently, there are four ministries that do strip club outreaches in the Tampa area. BFA will provide support to those ministries and resources for their clients. It's interesting to note that 11 years ago, when BFA began doing strip club outreaches, we started doing them in the Tampa area. At that time, it was an untouched mission field as no other ministry was reaching out in this way.

Thank you for your support over the years and now as we continue into this new season. We are thrilled to see what God will do in and through Beauty From Ashes™ in the years to come.
