In 2002, when Julie Shematz did her first strip club outREACH, there were less than 5 ministries in the United States doing this unique type of outREACH.

With a passion for this
marginalized populace and recognizing a need for the development of training, in 2005 Mrs. Shematz developed and implemented trainings across the nation sharing her unique models of
strip club & sex worker's outREACH.

In the fall of
2010, BFA received a federal capacity building grant from the Department of Health & Human Services which enabled Mrs. Shematz to transform the training into a professional curriculum which included afterCARE.  In 2012, BFA launched our FAITH BASED, BEST PRACTICES outREACH and AfterCARE model training.

In August 2013, Mrs. Shematz received a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University and in October of 2013 she was recruited by The Salvation Army to develop a specialized human trafficking program. While providing consulting for this vision, they offered her the position of Director of Social Services at Tampa / Hillsborough County Area Command.  In the three years she was there, not only did The Salvation Army officially approve of the curriculum and training, but they began implementing it.  While with The Salvation Army, Mrs. Shematz developed The Salvation Army's first approved Anti-Human Trafficking Program, an Emergency Shelter, in the state of Florida. Additionally, she developed and implemented a Drop In Center for local sex workers. Hillsborough County has more legally registered adult entertainment businesses than any other county in the USA.  Currently, Tampa has more than 12 ministries that do strip club, sex business outREACH, and nationally, there are nearly 300 ministries doing this type of outREACH.

Whether you are already doing outREACH, are planning to, or are professionally serving this populace, this comprehensive training will better equip you to competently and holistically reach and restore victims.
